CAPTRS Announces Advisory Roundtable of Experts

Experts from across sectors come together as CAPTRS grows.

The Center for Advanced Pathogen Threat Response and Simulation (CAPTRS) has welcomed 13 distinguished

cross disciplinary senior advisors to their Advisory Roundtable. These individuals bring expertise in complex systems, AI, naval wargaming, public health, epidemiology, medicine, behavioral economics and communications to the CAPTRS team.

CAPTRS was created in 2022 by Lauren Ancel Meyers, founding director of the University of Texas COVID-19 Modeling Consortium; Phil Siegel, managing partner of Tritium Partners; and Molly Pieroni, founder of MC2 Institute. CAPTRS aims to set a new standard for preparedness through innovative simulation games that equip decision makers with the intuition, skills and systems they need to address future threats.

The Advisory Roundtable includes: Dr. Rick Bright, Former Director of BARDA and Deputy Asst. Secretary for Preparedness and Response, US Dept. of Health and Human Resources

AnnaMaria DeSalva, CEO of Hill + Knowlton Strategies Dr. Mark Escott, former Chief Medical Officer for the City of Austin

Dr. Dylan George, Director of Operations for NCEFOA, CDC Dr. Dario Gil, SVP and Director of IBM Research Dr. Marin Gjaja, Senior Partner with Boston Consulting Group

Dr. Robin Hogarth, Emeritus Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra

Dr. David Krakauer, President of the Santa Fe Institute Rich Lesser, Chairman of Boston Consulting Group Dr. Mark McClellan, Duke University and Former FDA Commissioner

Dr. Margaret Polski, Associate Professor at the U.S. Naval War College

Dr. Mike Rosenfield, Strategic Partnerships at IBM Research Dr. Dan Stanzione, Executive Director of the Texas Advanced Computing Center

The CAPTRS Advisory Roundtable will allow us to leverage the expertise of accomplished leaders across sectors as we identify and build new ways to prepare for threats,” said Molly Pieroni, President and Partner of Yacktman Asset Management and co-founder of CAPTRS. “The brain trust we are bringing together with this group will be invaluable as we continue to build CAPTRS for the betterment of our society.”
